Uses
Bexol (Trihexyphenidyl) is an anticholinergic medication prescribed to help manage Parkinson's disease, and tension disorders brought about by anti-psychotic drugs like thioxanthenes, buthyropenones, dibenzoxazepines. It can be combined with other drugs such as Carpidopa-Levodopa medications which are commonly used to reducing Parkinson's symptoms. It works by controlling neurotransmitter in the brain which helps eliminate symptoms like mental inertia and depression.

Dosage and administration
Correct dosage of Bexol 2 will depend on the individual patient and the precise condition being treated. Always following your physician's instructions, and never self-medicate or adjust your dosage without first consulting them.
You will normally be prescribed a low dose which will be gradually increased until the optimum safe dosage is found. A normal dose to start on is 1mg taken twice a day, which is increased depending on the patients progress and any side effects suffered. Dosing is usually done either just before or after meals. Elderly patients will usually require a lower dosage.

Side effects
The most commonly reported side effects include dry mouth, dizziness, nervousness, and anxiety. These need reporting to your physician, and if any are persisting or worrying do so as soon as you can.
More serious side effects include seizures, angiodema, (swelling), difficulty breathing, and irregular heartbeats. Seek medical attention as soon as possible if you experience any of these side effects.

Precautions
Never suddenly and abruptly stop taking this medication. If you wish to stop taking it, consult your physician for further advice.
Before you begin using Bexol 2, disclose any of the following listed below to your physician.

• Any allergies you have
• Any other medication you are taking (including off-the-shelf medication, supplements, and vitamins)
• Any other existing medical conditions or illnesses (especially kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, epilepsy, and depression)
