Uses
Brimonidine Eye Drops are prescribed to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension, also known as open angle glaucoma.
It can be used to treat children with ocular hypertension and glaucoma, though it is not recommended for children under the age of two years.
Dosage and administration
Always follow the instructions given to you by your physician.
This medication is an eye drop, usually used 3 times per day, with approximately 8 hour gaps. Do not apply eye drops within 8 hours of the last application as this could cause eye discomfort.
If you forget to dose, do not increase your next dose to compensate for it. Instead, continue on your course of medication as normal.
Side effects
Common side effects include itchiness, conjunctivitis, and eye sensitivity. These are usually all safe and short lasting, so any of these effects continue you should promptly inform your physician. In rare cases patients can experience a rise in blood pressure. Children using this medication can experience apnea and lethargy in some cases.
Serious side effects are rare, but should be reported immediately to your physician. More serious effects can include headaches, dry mouth, burning or stinging eyes, blurred vision, and drowsiness.
Precautions
If using any other eye drop medication, wait at least 5 minutes between administering this product and the other eye drop.
Inform you physician of any other medication you are taking, including all non-prescription or off-the-shelf drugs, vitamins, or supplements. Also be sure to inform your physician of any allergies you have and any other existing health conditions or illnesses you have. Delivery Time: 7-14 Days
