Crotorax Cream (Crotamiton) - 10%w/w (20gm Tube)

Uses
Crotorax (Crotamiton) is a topical medication used to treat various skin conditions including scabies, chicken pox, dermatitis, sunburns, as well as insect bites. It is a scabicide and antipruritic which works by reducing itchy and irritated skin.

This product is not recommended for patients under the age of 3 years.

Dosage and administration
Administer Crotorax (Crotamiton) strictly as prescribed by your physician.

Patients are usually advised to administer the cream either 2 or 3 times per day, for a period of 3 to 5 days. Administration should normally be done shortly before sleeping.

While it is normally applied locally to the area(s) affected, when used to treat scabies it is applied over the whole body except for the face and head.

Side effects
Report all side effects to your physician, doing so as soon as possible if any are persistent or they worsen. Side effects which have been reported by patients using Crotorax (Crotamiton) include:

• Itching
• Burning sensations
• Tingling sensations

Seek immediate medication attention if you notice swelling (particularly of the face or limbs), skin rashes, hives, difficulty swallowing, or trouble breathing.

Precautions
Avoid applying Crotorax (Crotamiton) to any damaged, cut, or sunburnt skin. Do not apply on or near to your face.

Crotorax (Crotamiton) may increase the skin's sensitivity to UV rays. Patients should avoid all exposure to direct sunlight. Sun block and protective clothing should be used when exposure is unavoidable. Never use any type of UV lamp or tanning booth while you are using this medication.

Before you begin using this medication inform your physician:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• If you have any allergies
• If you have any other existing medication conditions
• If you are using any other medication (prescription or off-the-shelf)
• If you use any dietary supplements or herbal products
