Uses
Cyclopent is given to patients undergoing pediatric eye examinations. It is a mydriatic and cycloplegic agent which helps to enlarge the patient's pupil for easier examining. In addition to this use it may be prescribed for eye conditions related to Posterior synechiae or Uveitis.
Dosage and administration
Under normal circumstances, your physician will administer the eye drop 30 to 60 minutes before the eye exam and will only use 1 drop every 5-10 minutes.
Do not rub your eye or contaminate your eye with germs as this could lead to complications.
Side effects
The side effects listed below are the most commonly reported. If any bother you, worry you, are persistent, or worsen, inform your physician as soon as possible.
- Blurred vision
- Burning sensations
- Irritation
- Increased light sensitivity
- Disorientation
- Disturbances to your speech
- Confusion
- Clumsiness
- Drowsiness
- Changes to your heartbeat
- Seizures
- Flushing
- Hallucinating
- Decreased urination
- Skin rashes
- Abnormal thirst
- Dry mouth
