Uses
Distoside is anti-worm anthelmintic medication used to prevent worms from reproducing or growing further within the body. It is also used to treat liver flukes (found in East Asia), schistosoma (found in Africa, the Caribbean, South America, Asia, and the Middle East), and infections caused by worms.

Please note that this medication is not effective at treating infections found in the eye.

Dosage and administration
Dose as you have been advised by your physician. Incorrect dosing could worsen your symptoms. Do not change your dose by yourself.

All tablets should usually be swallowed whole alongside a meal and a full glass of water.

A common prescription is for 3 tablets per day, taken with 4 to 6 hour gaps.

Side effects
Side effects reported by patients taking Distoside include headaches, dizziness, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, and fever symptoms.

Report all side effects to your physician. Promptly report any which persist, bother you, or become worrying.

Precautions
Distoside is not suitable for elderly patients or patients under the age for 5 years. For more information, consult your physician.

If you notice any signs of any allergic reaction, seek immediate emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a reaction might include difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, swelling, hives, or skin rashes.

It is essential you inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and discuss the possible risks involved.
