Uses
Flonida is a topical anti-neoplastic with anti-cancerous properties which is prescribed to treat solar keratoses, multiple actinic, and other health problems caused by over-exposure to UV rays. It works by targeting certain cells and inhibiting their growth and reproduction.
Dosage and administration
Always follow the prescription and all instructions provided by your physician. Correct and suitable dosage will depend on the patient and condition being treated.
The following steps are provided only as a rough guideline.
- Wash both your hands and the area of skin to be treated
- Administer the cream directly onto the skin using gloves
- Massage gently into the skin
- Allow to air dry uncovered
- Immediately wash your hands after use and put the tube away in a safe place
Side effects
The following side effects are usually mild to moderate in severity. If any persist, worsen, or worry you, inform your physician.
- Burning
- Tingling
- Crusting
- Redness
- Inflammation
- Irritation
- Pain or discomfort
More serious side effects which require immediate medical attention include those below.
- Vomiting
- Scarring
- Sores
- Fever
- Bloody stool
- Pigmentation changes
- Severe crusting, irritation, inflammation, or discomfort
- Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as hives, rashes, swelling, or difficulty breathing
Precautions
Flonida is for external use only. Do not apply too close to the eyes, mouth, nose, or ears, and avoid applying to any cut, broken, or burnt skin.
Flonida is not suitable for all patients. Always check with your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you smoke or consume alcohol, and be sure to disclose details of any of the following:
- Any other medication you are taking, including all off-the-shelf medication
- Any vitamins or supplements you take
- Any other health conditions, disorders, or illnesses you suffer from
