Uses
Imatib (Imatinib Mesylate) is a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), as well as other malignancies. Additionally, it may also be used to prevent cancerous cells from spreading in other parts of the body following the removal of GISTs.
Dosage and Administration
Adults prescribed Imatib (Imatinib Mesylate) are usually instructed to take between 400mg and 800mg per day, taken as a singular daily dose or divided into smaller doses throughout the day. Tablets should be taken alongside a snack or meal and washed down with a full glass of water. Always swallow tablets whole, without splitting, crushing, chewing, or dissolving into liquid.
