What is Ixel (Milnacipran)?

Ixel (Milnacipran) is a new type of antidepressant. These are known as Norepinephrine Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (NSRI's). These antidepressants are able to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin and noradrenaline. This can have an advantage over products such as Prozac (which only effects Serotonin) and Effexor (which only effects norepinephrine).

Ixel Dosage

Ixel Dosage for treating depression is usually 25mg to 50mg daily (to a maximum of 100mg).

Ixel Warnings

Ixel is contraindicated with other anti-depressants and MAO inhibiting drugs. Ixel should not be combined with other Serotonin or Noradrenaline enhancing agents.
