Uses
Migarid (Flunarizine) is a calcium antagonist prescribed to manage and treat migraines. It works by reducing the frequency of migraine attacks by aiding the management of calcium in the body in order to prevent cell damage.
Please note that this medication is not affective when used to treat acute migraines. However it may also be used to protect the brain from hypoxia, protect the blood cells from rigid membranes, and prevent smooth muscle contractions.
Dosage and administration
Always take Migarid (Flunarizine) as you have been prescribed and instructed by your physician. Do not self-medicate or adjust your dosage by yourself. Correct dosage may vary depending on the patient and the severity of the condition being treated.
A common dosage prescribed is one 10mg tablet each day, taken in the evening shortly before bedtime. Always swallow tablets whole without chewing, crushing, splitting, or dissolving.
The effects of the medication can usually be noticed after a few weeks of use. If you do not notice changes after 6 weeks of correct uses, consult your doctor to discuss your options.
Side effects
