Uses
Naratrex (Naratriptan) is given to treat the symptoms of migraines as well as acute migraine attacks. It can soothe symptoms such as severe headaches, the feeling of sickness, nausea, as well as increase sensitivity towards light and/or sound.
Dosage and administration
Take Naratrex according to your physician's instructions only. Do not self medicate, this may result in severe side effects as prescription can vary from patient to patient depending on their personal factors.
Naratrex (Naratriptan) is taken orally with a full glass of water. It is normally used as soon as the patient suffers from a migraine. One tablet should be sufficient, but if not you should not take another until at least 4 hours as past.
You should not take more than 2 tablets in a single 24 hour period as over dosing can lead to ill symptoms.
Side effects
Below are possible side effects that you should inform your physician of if they persist or become severe:
- Changes in vision
- Sensation of unexplained tingling, warmth or cold
- Feeling tired, dizzy or weak
- An upset stomach
Contact your physician immediately if you suffer from:
- Painful and/or tightness in the chest or throat
- Changes in heartbeat
- Inability to breathe normally
- Red and/or itchy skin
- swelling in the limbs, tongue, throat or face
- Severe stomach pains
Precautions
Prior to beginning your prescription you should inform your physician of:
- Any allergies
- Any other prescription drugs you are using as well as medicines/supplements/vitamins you bought without prescription
- Any history of hypertension, angina (reoccurring pains in the chest), heart attack, diabetes, high levels of cholesterol, obesity, coronary artery disease, menopause as well as any diseases related to the blood vessels/kidney/liver
- If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breast feeding
- If you have any upcoming surgery (including dental work) as this drug may interact with anesthesia
