Uses
Ospamox (Amoxicillin) is prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial infections including ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, E.coli, salmonella infection. It is a penicillin antibiotic, which may be used alongside other antibiotics called clarithromycin when treating stomach ulcers resulting from Helicobacter pylori infections. When treating stomach ulcers, your doctor may also prescribe lansoprazole (Prevacid) to treat stomach ulcers. It is important to note that this medication only treats bacterial infections and is ineffective when used to treat viral infections.
Dosage and Administration
Always use Ospamox (Amoxicillin) as prescribed by your doctor. As with all antibiotics, it is important to complete the full course of medication you have been prescribed, even if the infection appears to have been successfully treated.

Precautions
Ospamox (Amoxicillin) can cause female birth control pills to be less effective. As a result, patients must use another barrier-form of contraception while using this medication, for example a condom or diaphragm.
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
