Uses
Predmet Opthalmic (Prednisolone Acetate) is an eye drop solution which is used to treat many eye conditions, including conjunctiva, conjunctivitides, herpes zoster keratitis, Iritis, allergic conjunctivitis, and other inflammatory and auto-immune conditions of the eyes. It is a corticosteroid which improves symptoms associated with the mentioned conditions, for example inflammation, swelling, itchiness, and irritation.
This medication may also be used by patients who have undergone organ transplant surgery to help their body to accept the new organ, reducing inflammation and swelling which can be caused as an auto-immune reaction.
Dosage and Administration
Predmet Opthalmic (Prednisolone Acetate) eye drops are applied to the affected eye(s) in the same way generic eye drops are used. Before applying, shake the bottle well in order to mix the solution inside thoroughly. After applying the prescribed number of drops, close the eye for approximately 30 seconds to allow the solution to spread. While doing this, gently apply pressure to the corner of your eye nearest the nose to prevent tear duct drainage. After use, recap the eye dropper immediately to help prevent contamination.
