Uses

Rebagen (Rebamipide) is used as a long-term treatment for behcet`s disease, recurrent oral aphthous, ulcers (aphthae), skin lesions, uveitis, and genital ulcers.

It is a gastroprotective agent which is normally tolerated well by most patients and easy to administer. It`s used as both a treatment, and a preventative. Your physician may also prescribe this drug for other uses not listed above.

Dosage and Administration

Use only as advised by your physician. Changing your dose, or taking outside of your physician`s guidance may cause severe side effects.

Typical Rebagen (Rebamipide) is taken 3 times every day, once in the morning, afternoon and finally in the evening before bedtime. A common prescription length is 1 week.

Side effects

The following side effects have been reported by patients using Rebagen (Rebamipide). If you are experiencing any side effects, inform your physician as soon as possible.

  • Gastrointestinal tract problems

Precautions

This medicine should not be used when pregnant, or breastfeeding. It has been proven to pass through breast milk, threatening the health of the baby.

Elderly patients and children should not take Rebagen (Rebamipide) unless specifically advised it is safe by their own physician.

Always inform your physician of any other drugs you are taking, or have recently taken. This includes non-prescriptions drugs, vitamins, minerals, and any kind of supplements.

Inform your physician if you smoke, or if you consume more than small irregular amounts of alcohol.
