Uses
Thaloda is used in conjunction with other medications to treat multiple myeloma and to treat the debilitating and disfiguring skin sores associated with the inflammation complications of leprosy. It works by helping your immune system to prevent inflammation in your body.
Dosage and administration
How much you take and how often will depends on the strength of the Thaloda and your condition. Take strictly as directed by your physician, on an empty stomach at least an hour after eating. It is best to take Thaloda just before going to bed.
While taking Thaloda your physician will need to check your progress, so do not miss any appointments.
Do not alter your dose or suddenly stop taking Thaloda without consulting your physician, even if you are feeling better. If you do, your symptoms may worsen and risk the onset of unwanted and possibly dangerous side effects.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
Side effects
As with all medication, Thaloda has the potential to cause side effects in some patients. Common side effects of Thaloda include constipation, sleepiness, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, anxiety, tremors, bone pain, nausea, and insomnia. If these symptoms worsen or persist, contact your physician.
Less common side effects of Thaloda include numbness or a burning pain in your legs or feet, chest pain, fever, skin rashes, coughing up blood, chills, heart problems, and seizures. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately or seek emergency medical treatment.
Precautions
Do not take Thaloda if you are allergic to it or to any of its ingredients.
Tell your physician if you have allergies to any other medications, dyes, food, preservatives, or any other substances, you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding, and what other prescription, non-prescription, or herbal and dietary supplements you are taking.
