Main Use Active Integredient Marketed Name

Stop bleeding

Tranexamic Acid Trapic®

Uses
Trapic 500 is used for short periods of time to inhibit bleeding during various situations such as tooth extraction, menstruation, injury, heavy nosebleeds, or surgery. It can also be used to treat bleeding disorders such as hemophilia. These tablets belong to a group of medicines called anti-fibrinolytics which help a patient's blood to clot, stopping any bleeding more quickly.

Dosage and administration
Optimum dosage and the correct frequency of administration will be dependent on the exact condition being treated. Use only as advised by your physician and ensure you disclose details such as your weight, health condition and concerns as well as other medicines you are taking (if any).

These tablets are taken orally, normally between 2 and 4 times a day alongside a glass full of water.

For best results you should aim to dose at the same time(s) each day. If you miss a tablet, never increase your next dose to compensate for missed doses as this will increase the likelihood of ill symptoms.

Side effects
Common and normally safe side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, and diarrhea. If any of these side effects persist, worsen, or begin to worry you, you should inform your physician promptly.

If you experience any of the following more serious side effects you should seek immediate medical attention.

  • Pain in the chest , jaw, left arm, or calf
  • Swelling of the limbs or face
  • Shortness of breath
  • Slurred speech
  • Bloody cough
  • Faintness or confusion
  • Loss of feeling on one side of your body
  • Changes to your vision for example blurred vision, or colour changes
  • Changes to your urination

You should also seen immediate medical attention if you think you are suffering from an allergic reaction. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include rashes, itchiness, swelling of the limbs or face, severe dizziness, and difficulty breathing.

Precautions
If you are elderly, or weak due to an illness, you should consult your physician before taking Trapic to check it is safe for your use.

  • Any allergies you may have
  • If you are pregnancy, breastfeeding, or planning to conceive
