Uses
Visiocare is an ophthalmic ointment given to dogs to treat eye conditions such as keratoconjunctivitis sicca, chronic keratitis, and general dry eye. Its main ingredient is cyclosporine. This ointment should be used as early on as possible to prevent eye conditions causing irreversible damage to your dog's eye sight.
Dosage and administration
Typically it is recommended the ointment is applied to the eye(s) affected every 12 hours. This, of course, will vary depending on the precise condition being treated, the health condition of the dog, and the dog's medical history.
To apply, first remove any debris, discharge, mucus, from the dog's eye. Then apply a ΒΌ inch strip of the ointment to the eye.
Always follow the instructions provided by your vet.
Side effects
There are currently no known side effects associated with Visiocare Ointment. However, if you do suspect your dog is suffering from an adverse effect as a result of the ointment, always inform your vet as soon as possible.
Precautions
Check with your vet that Visiocare is safe for your dog prior to use if the dog is being given any other medication, has any allergies, or is pregnant, nursing pups, or used for breeding regularly.
Once open the ointment should only be used for one month. If after one month there is still ointment remaining in the tube, throw this away. Store in a cool, dry place.
