Uses
Acitrom is prescribed to people recovering from heart attacks and after heart surgery. It is an anticoagulant which thins the blood, and is used to prevent dangerous blood clots from forming in your lungs, veins, and other parts of your body.
Dosage and administration
How much you take and how often will depend on the strength of the Acitrom and your condition. Take strictly as directed by your physician.
Do not alter your dose or suddenly stop taking Acitrom without consulting your physician, even if you are feeling better. If you do, your symptoms may get worse and increase the onset of unwanted side effects.
If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed. If you miss more than one dose of Acitrom, contact your physician for advice.
Side effects
As with all medications, Acitrom has the potential to cause side effects in some patients. Common side effects of Acitrom include hypotension, shortness of breath, weakness, shock, abnormal swelling, headaches, and dizziness. If these symptoms worsen or persist, contact your physician.
Less common side effects of Acitrom include an allergic reactions, increased fatigue, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. If you experience any of these symptoms and they worry you, contact your physician.
If you overdose on this medication, immediately seek emergency medical treatment. Symptoms of an overdose include bloody urine, excessive bruising or menstrual like bleeding, and black stools.
Precautions
Do not take Acitrom if you are allergic to it or to any of its ingredients.
Tell your physician if you have allergies to any other medications, dyes, food, preservatives, or any other substances, if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, and what other prescription, non-prescription, or herbal and dietary supplements you are taking.
Alcohol and products high in vitamin k (such as egg yolks, vegetable oil, liver, and leafy green vegetables) may interact adversely with Acitrom, so discuss with your physician your use of these substances before taking this medication. Delivery Time: 7-14 Days
